What is the IT Store?
The IT Store is the online store for Information Technology at the University of Oklahoma (OU IT) where students, faculty and staff can enjoy unique services and special discounts from OU IT, as well as from companies such as Adobe, Apple, Macromedia and Microsoft.

What hardware specifications does OU IT suggest for PC's?
Desktop Minimum Requirements

  • 3.0 GHz or faster Pentium 4 or equivalent processor
  • at least 1 GB RAM
  • at least 60 GB hard disk
  • 10/100 Mbps Ethernet
  • 56 Kbps modem (optional)
  • CD-RW, or combo drive
  • Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2
  • 32 MB Video RAM (e.g., NVIDIA, ATI)

Laptop Minimum Requirements

  • 1.6 GHz Pentium M, 2.4 GHz or faster Pentium 4,or equivalent
  • at least 512 MB RAM or higher
  • at least 30 GB hard disk
  • 10/100 Mbps Ethernet
  • 56 Kbps modem (optional)
  • 802.11b/g wireless

What is your Return Policy?
This policy applies only to purchases made directly from our physical location at 1305 S. Jenkins Ave., Norman, OK 73072 or itstore.ou.edu.


For returns and exchanges:

  • A valid OU ID Card must be presented with the original purchase receipt.
  • Returns must be made within 10 business days of purchase.
  • Unopened hardware and software in the original packaging are eligible for a return with full refund.
  • The OU IT Store will replace defective software free-of-charge within 10 business days of pick up or date on purchase receipt. We do not offer refunds on damaged or lost products (see Warranty Info).
  • Software absent the activation code is not eligible to be returned.
  • There is a 15% restocking fee on supervisor-approved returns of opened hardware.
  • No cash refunds. Refunds must be made using original payment method.
  • We reserve the right to refuse payment by charge to a Bursar account.
  • Exchanges and Returns can be made at the IT Store located on 1305 S. Jenkins Ave, Norman, OK 73072. Any merchandise missing the Universal Product Code (UPC) is not eligible for return.

    How do I return an item?
    Returns and exchanges can only be made at the Felgar Service Center located at 865 Asp Ave., Felgar Hall 300, Norman, OK 73019-1053.

    This policy applies only to purchases made directly from ITstore.ou.edu. If you made a purchase from one of our partner sites, check your packing slip or the Web site of that partner for return or exchange information. Items purchased from a partner site may not be returned or exchanged through the IT Store.

    Avoid shipping charges and receive a refund more quickly by returning online orders at Felgar Service Center.

    • Your packing list/receipt and ID are required.
    • Include all original packing materials, manuals and accessories with the product to avoid any additional fees.
    • Returns of gift with purchase items, quantity discounts and bundle purchases have specific guidelines for what your return price will be.

    Mail
    We will do our best to process your return quickly. Please allow 14-21 days. Refunds will be credited to the original purchasing credit card account number only. We do not exchange mailed-in returns.

    Follow these directions to return by mail:

  • Include all original packing materials, manuals and accessories with the product to avoid any additional fees.
  • Include the return label (sent to you in the original shipment) with your product and indicate the reason for the return. We recommend you return items via UPS Ground or insured USPS for proof of delivery. We also recommend that you reuse the original shipping carton and packing materials.
  • You are responsible for all shipping charges. However, you will be credited all reasonable and customary standard ground shipping charges relevant to that item if product was damaged, defective, or the wrong item was shipped. Please include the postal receipt in your return package.
  • Please do not return items COD. Any charges incurred by IT Store for COD shipments will be subtracted from the amount of the returned item. You will be returned the difference. If the COD cost exceeds the value of the returned product, the credit card used for the original purchase will be charged for the remaining balance.
  • Returns of gift with purchase items, quantity discounts and bundle purchases have specific guidelines for what your return price will be.

How do I log into the IT Store?
To log into the IT Store, use your OU Net ID and password.

Current OU students, faculty and staff can log in to the IT Store using the login page located here.

Prospective students and guests can log in using the "Prospective Students" link located at the top of this page. No purchases can be made using this link. You can only view all the products and services offered by the IT Store.

Who is covered by a Service Level Agreement (organization-wide ESA)?

The following departments and organizations are covered by Service Level Agreements (SLAs). These agreements are similar to Enhanced Service Agreements (ESAs) for university-owned computers except that they cover more than just one faculty, staff, or student member. For pricing and customization options, please contact IT Professional Services at 325-1925.

What software is available on the IT Store?
We are constantly updating our software catalog with new software. For the most current list of software, please click here to visit our Software Catalog.

*Guests who have not logged in to the IT Store must do so in order to access the Software Catalog. Prospective Students and parents who do not yet have an OU username, please log in as a guest by clicking the "Prospective Student" link located at the top.

My order status says "Order Placed with Vendor". What does that mean?
Sometimes, the IT Store does not have an immediate inventory of an item avaiable on the IT Store and we have to order it from our vendor.

When your order status says "Order Placed with Vendor" we have ordered your product with our vendor. Orders placed with our vendor usually arrive within 7 to 10 business days.

You will receive an e-mail from the IT Store when your order is ready to be picked up.
